Both the U.S. State Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have advised travelers not to visit Canada over rising COVID cases due to the omicron variant.
Canada recently broke its one-day record for the highest amount of people hospitalized with COVID, with officials revealing daily cases had risen by 65 percent.
The State Department moved Canada to its Level 4: Do Not Travel” category. The CDC also moved Canada to its “Level Four: Very High” warning – a category that now includes approximately 80 destinations worldwide.
Popular international destinations, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Ireland still remain on the CDC’s Level 4 list.
