Beginning next year, Disney Cruise Line will require all children aged five and over to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to CNN, the requirement will begin on January 13, 2022, and children under the age of five, who aren’t eligible for the vaccine, must show proof of a negative COVID test taken between 3 days and 24 hours of departure.
“As we set sail again, the health and safety of our Guests, Cast Members and Crew Members is a top priority,” the company said in a statement. “Our focus remains on operating our ships in a responsible way that continues to create magic for all on board.”
CNN reports approximately 2 million children under the age of 12 have received their first dose of the vaccine, with the 5 – 11 age group making up around a third of all new vaccinations over the past two weeks.
