Airbnb Reveals its Top Destination for 2019

After carefully compiling data from user bookings, searches and wish lists, Airbnb have come up with their top “off-the-beaten” path destinations to visit in 2019 – and coming out tops is the small coastal town of Kaikoura, New Zealand!
According to Airbnb, Kaikoura – which was heavily damaged by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2016 – has seen a whopping 295% increase in bookings and a 210% increase in searches. The town, located on New Zealand’s South Island offers tourists the chance to experience areas notable sperm whale population and abundant wildlife. Located on a peninsular with a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery, Kaikoura also offers hiking, ATV off-road tours, surfing, river rafting and some great local shopping.
