Travelers’ Choice Awards Names Number One City to Visit in the World

The Travelers’ Choice Awards have named their top cities in the world to visit in 2018 and Paris, France has come out as a firm favorite.

The list, compiled from reviews and ratings on TripAdvisor, uses an algorithm “based on the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.”
“It’s clear in looking at this year’s list of Travelers’ Choice award-winning destinations that our millions of reviewers across the globe love exploring iconic cities that are full of rich history and culture,” TripAdvisor’s senior director of communications, Brooke Ferencsik, said in a statement.
Many of the cities that made the top ten list were in Europe, with the continent accounting for six of the top spots.
The top ten list comprised of the following ‘must visit’ global cities:
1. Paris, France
2. London, UK
3. Rome, Italy
4. Bali, Indonesia
5. Crete, Greece
6. Barcelona, Spain
7. Prague, Czech Republic
8. Marrakech, Morocco
9. Istanbul, Turkey
10. New York City, USA
For travelers looking to stay stateside, the Travelers’ Choice Awards for top U.S. destinations are:

4. Oahu, Hawaii
5. Orlando, Florida
