Fans of Jumanji will soon be able to visit a theme park based on the hit movies – but they’ll need to travel to England!
According to a Deadline exclusive, The World of Jumanji theme land, the first ever in the world, will open at Chessington World of Adventure Resort in Chessington in the UK next year.
The World of Jumanji theme land is costing over $20 million to develop. It will transport visitors through an overgrown Jumanji jungle featuring a 55-foot Jaguar shrine structure from the movie.
Deadline reports more information about rides will be unveiled in the near future.
“After being entertained by the films for so many years, fans now have the chance to experience Jumanji in a whole new dimension and we are thrilled to be going on this exciting adventure with the creative team at Chessington as Jumanji further expands with its very own themed land,” Jeffrey Godsick, EVP of Global Partnerships and Brand Management and Head of Location Based Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment said in a statement reported by Deadline.
The first Jumanji film was released in 1995. The franchise was revived with two other movies starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black in 2017 and 2019.
