This year’s Thanksgiving broke all the travel records with a record-breaking number of people taking to the skies.
On Sunday, a record-breaking 2,907,378 individuals were screened at U.S. airports by the Transportation Security Administration – the highest number of people to go through security on a single day ever.
Some airlines also broke their records for passenger bookings.
According to
ABC News, American Airlines reported a record high of nearly 6.5 million customers during the Thanksgiving holiday. The busiest day for American was Sunday, with over 6,100 departures. Similarly, United Airlines also reported a record high of 3.2 million travelers from November 17th to November 23rd, just ahead of Thanksgiving.
