An All Nippon Airways flight from Tokyo to Seattle was diverted after a drunk passenger bit a flight attendant’s arm.
According to
USA Today, the flight had to turn around over the Pacific Ocean one hour into its route when the “heavily drunk” 55-year-old American male passenger sunk his teeth into the female crew member.
“The safety and security of our passengers and employees are ANA’s top priority and we will take all necessary actions to ensure it,” an Air Nippon Airways spokesperson said.
USA Today reports the flight crew restrained the intoxicated passenger until the plane landed back at Haneda Airport and police arrived. The passenger reportedly refuted the accusation, claiming he “didn’t recall the assault due to the influence of a sleeping pill.”
