Delta has announced a change to their cell phone policy onboard flights and text-happy customers will be jumping for joy!
Delta CEO Ed Bastian announced passengers will now be able to send unlimited messages during the flight via Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp and iMessage by utilizing the in-flight WiFi for free, otherwise known as GoGo. It will be primarily for texting only and will not support the sending of photos, or other data.
Bastian told CBS, “We want our customers while they’re flying to stay connected to their homes, to their friends.”
Using your cell-phone to make a call during a flight is still something that is strictly prohibited.
Free messaging will start this Sunday aboard all GoGo enabled Delta flights with two, or more cabins.
