Alaska Airlines is giving its flight attendants and other employees a new gender-neutral uniform, courtesy of Seattle-based designer, Luly Yang – and has updated its uniform policy to reflect this.
The airline announced the uniform update in a press release, revealing, “In partnership with our employees, we have updated our uniform guidelines…to provide more freedom and flexibility in individual and gender expression.”
The airline updated its uniform policy to allow fingernail polish, makeup, two earrings per ear, and a single-stud nose piercing for all employees.
Alaska Airlines’ new gender-neutral uniforms will be designed by Luly Yang with input from Alaska’s employees.
In addition, the airline has created personal pronoun pins that employees can choose to wear with their uniforms.
