If the idea of drinking copious amounts of wine all day before retiring to sleep in your own private oversized wine barrel sounds like the ideal vacation, you may want to put Portugal on your travel bucket list.
Nestled in the Douro wine region of Portugal is Quinta da Pacheca, a 280-year-old working wine estate.

The owners of the estate, Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves, constructed the ginormous wine barrels – exact replicas of the ones they use for wine-making at the vineyard – as a way to take wine tourism to the next level.
“In an idyllic romantic setting, these wine barrel rooms will provide visitors a unique experience to the nature and significance of the Douro wine region,” a representative from the estate told the Metro.

Each barrel is kitted out with a circular double bed, private bathroom, air-conditioning – and that all-important WiFi so you can share your wine tasting adventures on social media.
A stay at the vineyard naturally comes with the chance to explore everything the estate has to offer, including sampling white, red, rose, and even Portugal’s infamous port wine. According to the Sun, visitors can also enjoy locally sourced products such as olive oil and jam at the vineyard’s on-site restaurant specializing in traditional Portuguese cuisine.
