WalletHub Reveals the Best – and Worst – Staycation Cities

WalletHub is back with its annual “Best & Worst Cities for Staycations” and for 2021 they compared more than 180 cities across three key dimensions – recreation, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation.

According to WalletHub, their data set ranges from parks per capita to restaurant-meal costs to the share of residents who had received their COVID-19 vaccine.
The Top Ten U.S. Cities for a Staycation according to WalletHub are:

1. Honolulu, Hawaii
2. Orlando, Florida
3. San Francisco, California
4. Charleston, South Carolina
5. Las Vegas, Nevada
6. Portland, Maine
7. Chicago, Illinois
8. Seattle, Washington
9. San Diego, California
10. Cincinnati, Ohio

Sadly, these cities ranked at the bottom of WalletHub’s “Best & Worst Cities for Staycations” for 2021:

171. Columbus, Georgia
172. Garland, Texas
173. Newark, New Jersey
174. Chesapeake, Virginia
175. Montgomery, Alabama
176. Aurora, Colorado
177. North Las Vegas, Nevada
178. Hialeah, Florida
179. Chula Vista, California
