A new skybridge slated to open in British Columbia, Canada this May is destined to instill fear in the heart of acrophobic’s everywhere.
The Golden Skybridge will connect forested trails in the Columbia and Rocky mountain ranges, perching a precarious 426 feet high above a deep canyon. Promising sweeping views of the alpine vistas, Lonely Planet reports those traversing the dizzying heights of the bridge will also get the chance to view a 200-foot waterfall and crashing river in the canyon below.
According to Lonely Planet, those who don’t have a fear of heights will also get to experience some additional daredevil activities in the form of a tandem bungee swing and 1,200-meter zipline spanning the canyon expected to open sometime over the summer. Families to the area can enjoy a treetop village playpark and idyllic walking trails.

“The Columbia Valley is one of those remarkable places that is uniquely positioned to provide a stunning, yet accessible mountain experience,” David Barry, president of Pursuit, who will operate the Golden Skybridge in partnership with a group of local developers, said in a statement reported by Lonely Planet. “Whether you’re staying in Golden or making it a stop along your journey between Alberta and British Columbia, the Golden Skybridge will soon become an iconic experience for Canadian and international visitors alike.”
