Virgin Atlantic is expanding its transatlantic routes by adding new direct service from London to Austin, Texas.
Beginning in late May, Virgin Atlantic will fly four times per week from London’s Heathrow Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
According to the PointsGuy, the flights will be operated by a 787-9 Dreamliner. Currently, British Airways is the only airline offering direct flights between London and Austin.
“The US has been our heartland for more than 37 years since our first flight to New York City in 1984,” Virgin Atlantic’s CCO Juha Jarvinen said in a statement reported by RoutesOnline. “Since US borders reopened to UK travellers on 8 November, it feels extra special to be launching new flying, especially to the fantastic city of Austin.”
