Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood have both extended their reopening date as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow.
The two theme parks were meant to close through the end of March, however in a joint statement to USA Today they revealed the parks would not reopen until April 19.
USA Today reports in addition to the theme parks, Universal CityWalk Orlando and Universal CityWalk Hollywood will also stay closed.
“We are extending the closure of Universal Orlando Resort through April 19 as we continue to respond to current conditions and make the health and safety of team members and guests our top priority. This includes our theme parks and Universal CityWalk,” Universal Orlando Resort shared via Twitter.
“The Universal Orlando Resort hotels have also temporarily suspended operations,” a Twitter announcement from the company continued. “We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed, based on guidance from health agencies and government officials.”
