It’s about to get a whole lot more festive in New York City, with Rockefeller Center getting ready to welcome its 2021 Christmas tree!
This year’s tree, a Norway Spruce, will hail from Maryland marking the first time a tree from that state has made it to Rockefeller Center. The 79-foot tall tree is reported to be around 85-years-old and was donated by a family in Elkton, Maryland, USA Today reports.
The tree will make its way to the famous New York City landmark on Sunday, November 13, where it will be decorated with a whopping 50,000 LED lights and topped with a Swarovski crystal star.
The 89th Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be lit on December 1, with the festivities broadcast on NBC. It will remain on display until Sunday, January 16.
