In celebration of Australia’s Sydney WorldPride festival, Qantas will operate a special WorldPride flight from Los Angeles to Sydney.
The Qantas WorldPride Flight from Los Angeles to Sydney will take off on February 22, 2023, bringing members of the American LGBTQI+ community to Australia to celebrate Sydney WorldPride.
The three-week WorldPride Festival is being held in the Southern hemisphere for the first time ever and will coincide with Sydney’s famous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
As the official airline partner for Sydney WorldPride, passengers onboard the special WorldPride Flight will enjoy an array of experiences hosted by Australian comedian Joel Creasey, including live in-flight entertainment, limited edition ‘Rainbow Roo’ Qantas pajamas, and a menu created by Australian chef Neil Perry.
Passengers will also receive a complimentary ticket to Live and Proud: Sydney WorldPride Opening Concert, featuring a special performance by the one and only Kylie Minogue!
“Supporting the LGBTQI+ community is part of the Qantas spirit and this flight will be operated by members of the Qantas Illuminate network, a community of Qantas LGTBQI+ employees and their allies,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said in a statement. “We are proud to bring visitors from the USA not only to celebrate Sydney WorldPride, but also to experience all that this vibrant city and country has to offer.”
