Floridians may soon face higher prices at the gas pump.
In a news release from the AAA, Saudi Arabia unexpectedly announced plans to cut oil production by more than a billion dollars a day beginning in May. The cuts are reportedly an effort to increase oil prices, which recently to a 15-month low.
AAA reports oil prices quickly rose following the decision, which in turn will cause higher prices at the pump.
According to the AAA, the most expensive metro areas in Florida for gas are currently West Palm Beach – Boca Raton ($3.64), Naples ($3.54), and Port St. Lucie ($3.53). The cheapest Floridian metro areas are Crestview – Fort Walton Beach ($3.21), Panama City ($3.23), and Pensacola ($3.27).
The AAA suggests combining errands to limit driving time, removing excess weight inside the vehicle, driving conservatively and not aggressively accelerating, and shopping around for the best prices to save on gasoline costs.
