Sarasota, Florida, has once again topped the “Best Places to Retire in the US” list compiled by U.S. News and World Report.

Not surprisingly, Florida cities dominated the list, taking 8 out of ten places, thanks to all that warm sunshine – and no state income tax!
To compile their list for 2021 – 2022, U.S. News and World Report analyzed data for the 150 largest metro areas in the country to assess how well they met Americans’ retirement needs and expectations. The data took into account everything from tax rates and house affordability to health care and resident happiness.

According to U.S. News and World Report, these are the top ten best places to retire in the United States:

1. Sarasota, Florida
2. Naples, Florida
3. Daytona Beach, Florida
4. Melbourne, Florida
5. Lancaster, Pennsylvania
6. Tampa, Florida
7. Fort Myers, Florida
8. Port St. Lucie, Florida
9. Ann Arbor, Michigan
10. Pensacola, Florida
