Despite political unrest taking a toll on visitor numbers, Hong Kong has been able to hold onto the title of most visited city in the world for 2019.
Market research group Euromonitor are back with their “Top 100 City Destinations” for 2019 – a list accumulated by looking at the international arrival numbers.
Once again Hong Kong came in at number one, despite a drop of nine percent over the previous year.
Thanks to the completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and a high-speed rail linking Hong Kong to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the city has continued to attract tourists with the majority of visitors coming from mainland China.
According to Relax News, Euromonitor looks at international visitors who stay for a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 12 months.
The top ten city destinations, according to Euromonitor are:

2. Bangkok
3. London
4. Macau
5. Singapore
6. Paris
7. Dubai
8. New York
9. Kuala Lumpur
10. Istanbul
