TripAdvisor Announces Number One Destination in Travelers’ Choice Awards

TripAdvisor is out with their annual Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2019, with London, England taking first place in the Best Destinations in the World category.
Perhaps the surge in popularity is due to the royal wedding effect (thanks to Harry and Meghan), or maybe it’s just everything London has to offer in the way of history, multi-cultural cuisine, quaint markets, cozy pubs, and fantastic shopping.
Either way, the capital city of England is having its moment as the best destination in the world – with travelers raving about visits to Buckingham Palace, Camden Market, the Royal Opera House, Tate Modern and shopping on Oxford Street.

Paris, France took second place in the Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2019 and, not surprisingly, travelers loved indulging their inner-Parisienne with walks along the Sienne, a breakfast of croissants and coffee at one of the city’s many cafes, a visit to the Louvre, shopping and indulging in some of that famous French cuisine.

Third place for this year’s awards has gone to Rome, Italy with travelers revealing you definitely need more than a day to take in everything Rome has to offer. With so much history, gorgeous food and shopping to experience, TripAdvisor reviewers suggest taking your time to fully explore the ancient city. Top of the list of places to go is the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Pantheon.
