According to Reader’s Digest permanent residents who opt into the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend Division can receive an annual check of approximately $2,000.
To qualify residents must not have a felony record, have lived in Alaska for a year, and remain physically in the state for at least 185 days.

Alaska also has some of the lowest taxes in the whole country and no state sales tax.
