Royal Caribbean have announced they will be discontinuing their ‘Sitter at Sea’ in-room babysitting service, due to lack of caregivers.
The service will be discontinued as of September 30, 2018 and the cruise line will continue to honor the service on board their ships up until that date, providing sitters are available.
The ‘Sitter-at-Sea’ program allowed for childcare in the guest’s own stateroom at a charge of $19 per hour.
The cruise line will still offer their other various kid focused programs, including ‘The Royal Babies & Tots’ program for children aged 6 – 18 months and 18 – 36 months in their interactive playground. An adult, or caregiver must accompany the child. Royal Caribbean are also still offering their ‘Late Night Party Zone’ group sitting for children between the ages of 3 – 11 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 1 a.m at a cost of $7 per hour.
