If a trip to see the breathtaking waterfalls of Havasu Falls near Grand Canyon National Park has been on your summer travel list, you will have to wait until next year.
The iconic falls, which have been closed since the pandemic began, will remain closed through the 2022 season.
According to the Associated Press, the Havasupai Tribal Council announced the news, revealing various repairs are needed because of the extended closure.
“The Havasupai Tribe appreciates your ongoing patience and looks forward to once again welcoming tourists back to Supai,” Council Chairman Thomas Siyuja Sr. said in a statement on the tribe’s website.
According to the Associated Press, tourists who had reservations for this season will be rescheduled for the same date in 2023.
