Florida Beach Tops Best Beach in the U.S Once Again

Dr. Beach has named the top beach in the United States and once again Florida’s Siesta Key Beach snags the top spot.

Dr. Beach, who is a professor at Miami’s Florida International University, is a huge fan of the powdered sugar soft sand at Siesta Key, revealing, “The sand is outstanding. Every time I go there, I’ve got to take a bag home with me. It’s almost sacrilegious to walk on it with shoes on.”
Siesta Key is a small barrier island just off the coast from Sarasota. It offers beautiful sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico, clean restrooms, picnic tables, shallow water with no drop-offs and natural dunes. Most of all Siesta Key is renowned for its soft white sand, the result of it being comprised of 99 percent pure crushed quartz.
This is the second time in seven years Siesta Key has topped Dr. Beach’s list. Siesta Key has also been ranked number one beach in America by TripAdvisor in 2015 and 2017.
