A firearm was found inside a raw chicken in a travelers carry-on luggage at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
“Theres a personal fowl here. Our officers @FLLFlyer made this very raw find,” the federal agency joked alongside photos of the illegally stuffed bird on social media Monday.
The photos show the raw baking hen being examined by a TSA screener, and an item is stuffed inside. The gun was wrapped in what appeared to be dark packing tape.
“We hate to break it to you but stuffing a firearm in your holiday bird for travel is just a waste of time,” the agency said.
Raw meat and seafood packed according to federal guidelines are allowed in carry-on luggage, with the rules available on the TSA website. Firearms must be declared and packed and unloaded in hard containers in checked luggage.
