Disney is expanding its ever-growing cruise line!
The company announced it will add a sixth ship to the family, which will be christened the Disney Treasure and is expected to set sail on its maiden voyage in December 2024.
According to a press release from Disney Cruise Line, the Treasure will encompass everything we love about a Disney cruise with themed rides, entertainment, and dining.
Disney understands that kids just can’t get enough of water rides, and the Disney Treasure will feature an AquaMouse attraction called “AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg.”
Suspended above the upper decks, the ride will take two-person vehicles through 760 feet (232 meters) of winding tubes, complete with Mickey Mouse animation and views of the ocean and decks below.
The ship will be the first in the Disney Cruise Line family to feature a Coco-inspired dining experience called Plaza de Coco. The Mexican restaurant will have dining tables set around a central stage with mariachi performances.
Other features of the new ship include an Aladdin-themed Grand Hall, a Lion King-themed two-story gathering spot, and a Broadway-style theater showing Beauty and the Beast and Disney Seas the Adventure.
Disney Treasure will carry 4,000 passengers with 1,256 staterooms and four royal suites.
The ship will officially set sail on December 21, 2024, on a seven-night cruise from Port Canaveral to the eastern Caribbean. Bookings for the all-new Disney Treasure open September 20, 2023.
