It’s hard to think about Thanksgiving amid the sweltering heat of summer, but it is only three months away and that means it’s time to start thinking about flight travel.
Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel seasons – and one of the most expensive if you procrastinate on booking your ticket.
Experts agree there is a great time to book those Thanksgiving plane tickets and that time is now!
Jesse Neugarten, founder and CEO of the Dollar Flight Club revealed to Reader’s Digest, “The best time to book Thanksgiving travel is actually August – September. I have tons of data from my subscribers to back that up.”
Neugarten also offered this advice, saying, “It’s really important to be flexible with dates and look for alternative airports close to your destination.”
And if you are still unsure of your Thanksgiving travel plans? Patrick Surry, chief data scientist for Hopper, told Reader’s Digest, “Make sure you book before Halloween! If you wait to book your flight until after Halloween, it will cost you about $1.50 per day you wait, and then the prices start rising about $6 per day in the last ten days before departure.”
