When Shaquille O’Neal Brings It, He Brings It Big

Officer Bobby White of the Gainesville Police Department got beat down by some neighborhood kids when he answered a disturbance call. When he showed up on the site, the disturbance was a bunch of kids playing basketball on the street. Where are kids supposed to go if they can’t play in their own neighborhood?
Rather than telling the kids to stop playing and to stop making so much noise, he joined them in their basketball game. Sources say they beat the pants off of him, but those sources have yet to get back to me about that. So, I’m leaving it to my own imagination that’s how it went. I’m even thinking they dunked on him, dribbled between his legs, and made his tactical belt fall to his ankles. He got a real beat down that day!
So, Officer Bobby White brought some back up the next time. The kids loved it when they saw Shaquille O’Neal get out of the SUV to take them on in a game of pickup. He not only did that, but he gave them a talk every kid needs to have at their age. He gave them the talk about always moving forward, fighting to succeed, and striving to do great in this life regardless of what they have holding them back.

That’s the talk of a lifetime. How many lives has Shaquille O’Neal changed? It’s hard to tell and it’s hard to know how many more he has in him. He’s an unstoppable force, but he’s one for the good side.
Shaq is actually an honorary police officer himself in both L.A. and Miami. So, his deep respect for the police shines in many of the things that he does. The police wear a shield and many times they are asked to go into the most dangerous situations. But they have a creed. They will run toward the chaos even when everyone else is running in the opposite direction. They deserve our respect and Shaq never fails to show them how much he respects the badge.
There is no doubt Shaquille O’Neal’s size on the court was huge. But his size in life is leaving an even bigger legacy. We’re talking about a guy who not only gives to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America but also has started his own foundation to provide for underserved communities.

Shaq’s life wasn’t a bad one. He did have a loving mother and a good step-father to raise him. Even though his own father wasn’t in the picture much, Shaq has said that he doesn’t hate his father. He had a good life. He had his step-father, Phil, a career sergeant in the Army.
This might be one of the reasons why he relates with kids so well and he wants to help them any way he can. He sees himself in them and he wants them to grow to become great individuals themselves just like Shaq has. It’s a good thing to want and with people like him in this world, it can become more of a reality.
