United Airlines’ new contest could see five lucky travelers bag a year’s worth of free flights – but only if they have received the COVID-19 vaccine!
The airline is one of a number of major corporations joining the push to get people vaccinated, with United CEO Scott Kirby telling the press, “We’re proud to do our part to incentivize people to get their shot.”
“Thanks to the vaccine, more and more destinations are opening up for travel and we know our customers are eager to fly. We’re excited to give people one more reason to get vaccinated so they can reunite with friends and family or take that long-awaited vacation which all could be just one shot away,” Kirby said in a press release.
From now through June 22, passengers can upload their COVID vaccination record to United’s app or website and enter the “Your Shot to Fly” sweepstakes. On July 1, United will randomly select five MileagePlus members to win the grand prize of free travel for themselves and one other person, including any class of service and any location across the globe. In addition to the grand prize, United plans to give away 30 pairs of roundtrip tickets to any destination United flies to throughout the month of June as part of the “Your Shot to Fly” sweepstakes.
