A North Carolina amusement park has closed down one of its roller coasters after a video showed a massive crack in one of the support pillars.
According to
USA Today, Carowinds confirmed they had closed down its Fury 325 roller coaster while the park’s maintenance team conducts a “thorough inspection.”
The roller coaster is described as the tallest, fastest, and longest giga coaster in North America.
“Safety is our top priority and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our valued guests during this process,” Carowinds said in the statement reported by
USA Today. “As part of our comprehensive safety protocols, all rides, including Fury 325, undergo daily inspections to ensure their proper functioning and structural integrity.”
