Mother’s Day weekend broke the TSA record for most travelers since the coronavirus pandemic began in early 2020.
With COVID vaccinations rising it looks like travel is finally getting back to pre-pandemic levels and last Friday proved to be the busiest for air travel since March 2020.
According to the TSA, on Friday a record 1.7 million were screened at security checkpoints, ending the week on a high note for what is hopefully a return to travel this summer.
In comparison, approximately 200,000 went through TSA on last year’s Mother’s Day.
The news was also good for airline stocks, which, according to USA Today, rose between 2 and 3 percent on Friday afternoon.
