Fans of Downton Abbey could soon win the chance to live like their favorite characters from the show by snagging a night at Highclere Castle, the property used to portray Downton Abbey in the hit period drama.
According to CNBC, the owners of Highclere Castle, Earl and Lady Carnarvon, have listed their stately home on Airbnb at a rate of £150 per night (approx. $187), in celebration of the release of the Downton Abbey movie.
The one-night only listing will give one lucky couple the chance to spend a night at the stately home in Hampshire on November 26 where they will share dinner with Earl and Lady Carnarvon in the state dining room, before retiring to one of the castle’s gallery bedrooms.
According to CNBC, Highclere Castle has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679. The 100,000 square foot, 300 room home has been featured in various films and TV shows over the years, before rising to international fame as the home of the Crawley family in Downton Abbey.
