With states across the U.S beginning to open up, Americans are once again looking to travel with vacation rental website Airbnb reporting a surge in domestic bookings.
After spending months under stay-at-home orders many of us are looking to take a vacation, but preferring domestic travel over international trips.
According to USA Today, Airbnb, Expedia Group’s VRBO and Booking Holdings are all seeing an increase in reservations as states reopen. However, travel still isn’t back to normal as Americans aren’t flying as much as they used to due to the coronavirus pandemic.
America isn’t the only country seeing a surge in people wanting to take a domestic vacation. According to USA Today, Germany, Portugal and South Korea are all seeing an uptick in people making domestic reservations, choosing to not travel internationally for their vacations this year.
