Visitors to the United Kingdom will no longer have to undergo testing upon arrival in the country – as long as they have been fully vaccinated.

According to the Independent, the “day two” lateral flow COVID test that vaccinated travelers to the UK currently have to take will no longer be necessary, although the government has yet to confirm a day when this new measure will go into effect.

“You will see changes so that people arriving no longer have to take tests if they have been vaccinated if they have been double vaccinated,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Sky News.

“Thanks to the tough decisions I think people will agree we got the big calls right, we are now moving through the Omicron wave,” the Prime Minister said. “So what we’re doing on travel to show this country is open for business, people arriving no longer have to take tests if they’ve been double vaccinated.”

The Independent reports rules for non-vaccinated visitors to the UK remain unchanged. They must present a negative COVID-19 test before departing to the UK, quarantine for 10 days upon arrival, and take a PCR test within two days of arrival and again on day 8.
