Time Out Reveals the ‘World’s Coolest Neighborhood’

Global media brand Time Out is back with its annual list of the world’s coolest neighborhoods – and topping this year’s contenders is a Mexican treasure full of creativity, unique places to eat, and some of the best nightlife in the world.
Colonia Americana, located in the city of Guadalajara in western Mexico, has topped Time Out’s ‘World’s Coolest Neighborhood’ list for 2022, thanks in part to its warehouse-based music venues and historic Art Deco buildings.

“Guadalajara is just emerging as a must-visit — and Colonia Americana is the place to be right now,” said Time Out Travel Editor James Manning in a statement reported by CNN. “It’s home to a boundary-pushing creative community, a growing number of amazing places to eat, and some of the best nightlife in the western hemisphere. And the street life is unbeatable.”
The Portuguese neighborhood of Cais do Sodré on Lisbon’s riverside came in second place, and Wat Bo Village in Siem Reap, Cambodia, nabbed the third spot on the coveted list.
According to Time Out, these are the top ten World’s Coolest Neighborhoods:

2. Cais do Sodré – Lisbon, Portugal
3. Wat Bo Village – Siem Reap, Cambodia
4. Ridgewood – NYC, USA
5. Mile End – Montreal, Canada
6. Barrio Logan – San Diego, USA
7. Shimokitazawa – Tokyo, Japan
8. Cliftonville – Margate, UK
9. Barrio Yungay – Santiago, Chile
10. Cours Julien – Marseille, France
