Weather delays and cancellations at airports in and around New York City continued into Tuesday, leaving passengers stranded.
A video shared by Twitter user @ClaudeRonnie2 shows stranded passengers waiting in line late Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
“This is like the second day that they are canceling on me, so it means Ill spend like three days in a row in this airport,” he says in the video.
“Thousands of people stranded at Newark airport, flights getting cancelled left, right and centre,” he tweeted alongside the video. “People not being allowed to just get their luggage and leave. The staff keep shouting no retrievals. The line to get your luggage is 5 plus hours long. United airlines seems clueless.”
Stormy weather on Monday added to delays that piled up on Sunday, with hundreds of passengers staying overnight in the airport.
In announcing the weather disruptions on Monday, Newark Liberty advised passengers to check with their airlines to determine the status of their flights.
