Nostradamus’ Harrowing Predictions
Published
2 years agoon
Nostradamus was a French astrologer, physician, and seer who lived in the 16th century. He is renowned for his prophetic writings, which have fascinated people for centuries. His book, “Les Propheties,” contains hundreds of quatrains, each containing cryptic and ambiguous predictions about future events. While some of his predictions have been interpreted as accurate, many have been deemed vague and open to interpretation.
Despite the mixed reception of his work, Nostradamus has left an indelible mark on popular culture, with his predictions inspiring countless books, movies, and documentaries. Even today, many people still turn to his writings in search of insight into the future. His lasting impression on humanity is a testament to the enduring fascination with prophecy and the desire to know what lies ahead. Here are his gravest predictions.
Grim Future
After enduring numerous horrors in recent years, it’s difficult to imagine that the future could be equally dreadful, if not worse. However, Nostradamus’ predictions suggest otherwise. Before exploring these predictions, let’s first gain some insight into the renowned figure behind these prophecies.
Who Was He?
Given the multitude of atrocities we’ve faced in recent years, it’s difficult to fathom that the future could be equally or even more distressing. Nevertheless, Nostradamus’ forecasts indicate that we may be in for an ominous future. Before delving into the details, let’s familiarize ourselves with the notorious figure responsible for these prophecies.
The Occult
Nostradamus entered into matrimony in 1531; however, his wife and two children perished due to the plague. This prompted him to continue his work as an apothecary, but he gradually moved away from conventional medicine and ventured into the occult. In 1550, he published an almanac that followed the latest trends, which proved to be a huge success. He continued publishing almanacs and commenced his profession as an astrologer for affluent clients.
”Les Prophéties”
Nostradamus pursued his ambition of composing a book of one thousand quatrains, a form of poetry that is his most prominent work. The book, named Les Prophéties, was released in 1555 and comprises 942 quatrains. These quatrains draw upon literary and historical precedent and, to this day, are thought by many to have correctly prophesied future events. In fact, more than 70% of his prophecies have been deemed accurate (depending on interpretation).
Code Writing
Nostradamus, apprehensive of persecution by religious institutions, composed his quatrains in a way that would obscure their meaning. Many of his quatrains were purportedly composed employing language and terminology that didn’t exist in his time. He did this intentionally to confound his contemporaries while also providing hints for future generations.
Public Reception
Nostradamus followed his aspiration of creating a collection of one thousand quatrains, which is his most notable literary work. The book, titled Les Prophéties, was published in 1555 and consists of 942 quatrains. These quatrains draw inspiration from literature and history and are still believed by many to have accurately predicted future events. In fact, over 70% of his predictions have been considered correct, subject to interpretation.
Prediction Method
Due to the fear of persecution by religious institutions, Nostradamus composed his quatrains in a manner that would obscure their meaning. He purportedly used language and terminology that didn’t exist in his time to compose many of his quatrains. This was done deliberately to confound his contemporaries while also leaving clues for future generations.
Predictions Unfold
At this juncture, you’re likely interested in knowing which of Nostradamus’s predictions have indeed materialized. As they were written several centuries ago, many of these predictions are open to interpretation. However, let’s just say that there is an abundance of ominous content that is quite chilling.
King Henry II’s Death
King Henry II, the husband of Catherine de’ Medici and a big admirer of Nostradamus, met a tragic and excruciating death at the age of 40. Nostradamus had predicted that “the young lion will overcome the older one” and that he would “pierce his eyes through a golden cage”, resulting in a “cruel death” due to “two wounds.” True to the prophecy, during a joust with one of his young soldiers, the king was struck and the lance shattered, driving splinters into his eye and skull, which eventually led to a slow death from sepsis. Another prophecy fulfilled for Nostradamus.
Air Travel
Nostradamus seemingly predicted air travel centuries before its invention or conception. One of his quatrains reads, “People will travel safely through the sky.”
WWI & Spanish Flu
According to some interpretations, Nostradamus predicted both World War I and the Spanish Flu pandemic in his quatrains. One such prophecy reads, “The dreadful war which prepared in the West, the following year the pestilence will come, so very horrible that young, nor old, nor animal (will survive).”
Rise of Hitler
Nostradamus made an accurate prediction about the rise of Adolf Hitler during the twentieth century. In his quatrain, he wrote about a young child born of poor people in the West of Europe who would seduce a great troop by his tongue, and referred to him as “Hister.”
Atomic Attacks
One of Nostradamus’s predictions, as interpreted by some, foretold the occurrence of World War I and the Spanish Flu pandemic. The quatrain reads, “The dreadful war which prepared in the West, the following year the pestilence will come, so very horrible that young, nor old, nor animal (will survive).”
JFK
Nostradamus’s quatrain seems to fit the assassination of President John F. Kennedy: “From on high, evil will fall on the great man” and “A dead innocent will be accused of the deed,” possibly referring to Lee Harvey Oswald, who some believe to be innocent. Nostradamus also adds that the truth about the situation will “remain in the mist,” adding to the mystery of the event.
September 11, 2001
Nostradamus wrote a passage that some interpret as a prediction of the September 11 terrorist attacks, which reads, “The sky will burn at forty-five degrees, fire approaches the great New City. Immediately a huge scattered flame leaps up.”
London Fire
The accuracy of Nostradamus’s prediction about the Great Fire of London is disputed. The quatrain mentions a fault committed by the blood of the just in London, a lightning strike that causes a fire, and the falling of an ancient lady from her high place, resulting in the death of several sect members. However, the reference to lightning causing the fire, and the identity of the “ancient lady” are not entirely clear, making the connection to the actual historical event a bit of a stretch.
Coronavirus
There is a debate over whether Nostradamus predicted the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, as some of his fans have suggested. Some have pointed to lines such as “The great plague of the maritime city” and “Diverse plagues will be upon mankind” as potential evidence, but these interpretations are open to debate.
Further Proof
In a particularly eerie passage from Erika Cheetham’s complete 1973 translation of The Prophecies of Nostradamus, one line reads, “In the feeble lists, great calamity through America and Lombardy. The fire in the ship, plague and captivity; Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn warning.” While it can be interpreted in various ways, the mention of America and Lombardy – two areas that were hit particularly hard in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic – as well as the “plague and captivity” and “fire in the ship” could be seen as possible references to the outbreak.
Fire in the Ship
The position of planets in astrology is often associated with events, and it is noteworthy that Mercury entered Sagittarius in December 2019, around the time when the first cases of COVID-19 were reported. Additionally, Saturn entered Aquarius on March 21, which coincided with New York City’s lockdown. Furthermore, the line mentioning “the fire in the ship” could be interpreted as a reference to the multiple cruise ships stranded at sea due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
Future Outlook
Given Nostradamus’ past predictions, it’s worth examining his prophecies for the near future, but the outlook is quite ominous and unsettling. One can only hope that his predictions do not come to pass.
Zombie Apocalypse
There is a claim that Nostradamus predicted a zombie apocalypse, where a Russian scientist creates a biological weapon that turns people into zombies, leading to the end of the world. The prediction includes a rise in evil, sorrow, and death, and the end of all life on earth.
“Few young people: half−dead to give a start. Dead through spite, he will cause the others to shine, and in an exalted place some great evils to occur: Sad concepts will come to harm each one, temporal dignified, the Mass to succeed. Fathers and mothers dead of infinite sorrows, women in mourning, the pestilent she−monster: The Great One to be no more, all the world to end.”
Next Ice Age
Nostradamus predicted that in the near future, global warming will stop and an ice age will begin instead. However, this prediction seems unlikely given the amount of damage caused by global warming thus far.
Solar Storms
Nostradamus predicted that certain solar storms would cause significant destruction on Earth and potentially lead to wars and conflicts, which could have serious consequences. While solar storms are not uncommon, the extent of the damage predicted by Nostradamus is certainly concerning.
Famine
Next, Nostradamus predicts a catastrophic global famine that will mark the beginning of the end of the world. It will be a devastating event that will leave much of the world unable to recover.
Decline of Catholicism
According to Nostradamus, there is a possibility of an assassination attempt on Pope Francis during a visit to a European city, which could result in social turmoil in Rome. This could then lead to the revelation of the Church’s secrets and ultimately cause the Church to crumble.Ayee
Rise of Islam
According to Nostradamus, Europe will be taken over by Muslims in the coming decades without any violence, as a result of a rise in Muslim immigration and a decrease in the number of children being born to Europeans.
Asteroid Hits
According to Nostradamus, an asteroid may strike or nearly miss the Earth, as stated in the quatrain “In the sky, one sees fire and a long trail of sparks.” A potentially devastating asteroid was projected by NASA to hit the Earth on May 6, 2021, with explosive power 15 times greater than the Hiroshima bomb, but luckily it missed. The possibility of future events remains uncertain.
Destructive Earthquakes
Nostradamus predicted a future earthquake in the “western lands,” which could cause massive destruction, and the West Coast of the United States has experienced such disasters before. If you currently reside in California, it might be wise to consider relocating, or at a minimum, take measures to make your home earthquake-resistant.
The Antichrist
It seems the strangeness of events never ceases to increase! Reportedly, the birth of the third Antichrist is imminent, possibly in an Arab nation beset by political turmoil. His arrival is expected to cause further upheaval, with many supporters rallying behind him. To avoid making Hitler’s errors, the Antichrist will examine his tactics. The ominous quatrain states: “The Antichrist will destroy three and his war will last twenty-seven years. The non-believers will be deceased, imprisoned, or exiled; the earth will be awash with blood, human remains, water, and red hail.”
Nostradamus in 2022
Regarding the year 2022 specifically, Nostradamus had said a few concerning things. Firstly, he predicted that a meteor shower, followed by an earthquake, will destroy the earth in December:
“Very near Auch, Lectoure and Mirande
A great fire will fall from the sky for three nights.
The cause will appear both stupefying and marvelous;
shortly afterward there will be an earthquake.”
Apparently multiple devastating phenomena were supposed to occur, as Nostradamus also predicted that a nuclear bomb would be detonated in 2022, causing even more climate change than we already had! Thank goodness he was wrong about both of these things.
Cryptocurrency
It has been claimed that Nostradamus predicted the collapse of the US dollar due to spiraling inflation, with gold, silver, and bitcoin supplanting it. A supposed quatrain states, “The imitations of gold and silver will become overinflated, having been thrown into the lake after being stolen, but when it is revealed that all has been exhausted and dissipated by debt, all paper money and bonds will be worthless.” While this interpretation remains open to debate, the rise of cryptocurrencies suggests that alternative financial systems could emerge in the future.
Baba Vanga
Baba Vanga, originally named Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, is a renowned seer who has captured the public’s imagination. Born into a humble Bulgarian family in 1911 during the Ottoman Empire, she spent the majority of her life in the rural mountains of Bulgaria. As a child, she was carried away by a tornado and deposited in a nearby field, an event that traumatized her and gradually caused her to lose her sight. She remained blind for the rest of her life.
Future Healer
During her childhood, Baba Vanga enjoyed playing the part of a healer with her friends. She would prescribe different herbs to her pretend patients, who pretended to be ill. By the time World War II broke out, Baba Vanga had amassed a significant following of people who believed in her healing and divinatory powers. Many of her devotees sought information about the fate of their loved ones in the war, including whether they had survived or where they had been buried.
Popularity Grows
Over time, Baba Vanga gained popularity, leading to increased demand for her predictions. The Bulgarian government eventually employed her and provided support staff to manage her patients. She received visits from notable figures such as Bulgarian Tzar Boris III and Leonid Brezhnev. To discover which of her past predictions came true, stay tuned.
Legacy After Life
Although Baba Vanga died in 1996, she remains a beloved oracle, having gained many admirers and fans due to the accuracy of her predictions. Her funeral was well attended, and numerous books have been published about her life. As she was only semi-literate, quotes attributed to her were documented by her staff members, making it difficult to determine the authenticity of everything attributed to her.
Prediction Calculator
Reportedly, Baba Vanga’s success rate in predictions is 80 percent, even higher than Nostradamus’s impressive 70 percent. One of her notable predictions was about the September 11 attacks in 2001, in which she described “two steel birds” that would destroy the “American brothers,” likely referring to the Twin Towers. She said, “Horror, horror! The American brothers will fall after being attacked by the steel birds… The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.”
Brexit
Baba Vanga’s prediction that “Europe would cease to exist by 2016” has been interpreted by many as a reference to Britain’s 2016 vote to leave the European Union, known as “Brexit.” However, her prediction becomes less clear as she also mentioned that Europe would become “empty spaces and wasteland, nearly devoid of any form of life.” So far, this has not been the case, but it is uncertain what the future holds.
Vladimir Putin
There are indications that Baba Vanga may have predicted Russia’s emergence as a major world power and Vladimir Putin’s ascent to leadership. In 1979, she told writer Valentin Sidorov that Russia would become the “ruler of the world,” thanks to “Vladimir’s glory, glory of Russia.” At the time, Putin was still a KGB agent, and he did not officially assume office until May 7, 2000. It is noteworthy that the name Vladimir means “ruler of the world” in Russian.
Boxing Day Tsunami
On December 26, 2004, a massive 9.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, resulting in the deadliest tsunami in recorded history. The disaster claimed over 200,000 lives across multiple countries. Baba Vanga was once reported to have said, “A huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water. Everything will melt, just like ice.”
Silvana Armenulic
In August 1976, Yugoslav folk singer and actress Silvana Armenulić visited Baba Vanga while on tour in Bulgaria. During their meeting, Baba Vanga refused to speak to Armenulić or even look at her. Eventually, she said, “Nothing. You do not have to pay. I do not want to speak with you. Not now. Go and come back in three months.” As Armenulić was leaving, Baba Vanga added, “Wait. In fact, you will not be able to come.” Armenulić interpreted this as a prediction of her death before the three months were up, and just two months later, she died in a car accident along with her sister.
Incorrect Predictions
Although Baba Vanga had a high success rate with her predictions, there were some that did not come to fruition. For instance, she predicted that a nuclear World War III would occur between 2010 and 2014, and that Europe would be almost uninhabited by 2016. Luckily, neither of these predictions came true. Let’s now examine some of Baba Vanga’s other predictions that didn’t materialize.
USSR & Cancer
In 1993, shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Baba Vanga forecasted that the USSR would be resurrected in the first quarter of the 21st century, and that Bulgaria would be included in it. In 1994, she also predicted that a cure for cancer would be discovered in the early 21st century, and that the cure would involve a high concentration of iron. Furthermore, she foresaw a cure for old age.
Vanga’s Future
Baba Vanga’s predictions for the future are bleak, much like Nostradamus’s. She forecasted that a group of scientists would discover a prehistoric virus in Siberia that, due to global warming, could be reanimated and pose a serious threat to humanity. It’s an ominous prediction, especially considering the current state of the world.
Water Shortage
Baba Vanga predicted that with the population growth in certain cities, there will be a scarcity of drinking water. She foresaw that people will resort to extracting water from the ground due to insufficient resources from nearby rivers, and as necessities grow, they will dig deeper. This prediction is something that could realistically come true.
Alien Encounter
Baba Vanga reportedly predicted the arrival of a mysterious asteroid named “Oumuamua” that may not be a typical asteroid, but rather a spacecraft. According to her prophecy, the extraterrestrial beings on board will be searching for signs of life elsewhere in the universe, and if they reach Earth, they will take people captive. The fate of these captives was not specified in Baba Vanga’s prediction, but it’s a disturbing possibility.
Locusts in India
Baba Vanga predicted that India will suffer a massive locust infestation, with temperatures in New Delhi exceeding 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) due to an extreme weather phenomenon. As a result, millions of locusts will descend upon the city and devastate thousands of acres of grain, potentially causing widespread hunger and poverty worldwide, reminiscent of apocalyptic nightmares.
Weather Phenomena
Baba Vanga prophesied more extreme weather in 2022, including a polar vortex in the US, high temperatures in Scandinavia, flooding in Europe, and increased fires in Australia, leading to numerous fatalities. This bears similarity to the effects of climate change.
Human Zombies
Baba Vanga predicted that technology addiction, particularly excessive use of the internet, social media, and video games, will cause a decline in brain mass, leading to the human race turning into zombies. While this may sound implausible, recent events suggest that anything is possible. In short, anticipate the unexpected.
Long-Term
Baba Vanga’s predictions for the distant future include the Earth changing its orbit in 2023, complete melting of ice caps by 2033 leading to rising water levels, and a possible end of the world in 5079. While the Earth’s rapid orbit change is scientifically unlikely, the melting of ice caps remains a significant concern.
Conclusion
Are Nostradamus and Baba Vanga credible, or did they make unfounded predictions hoping that some would become true in the distant future? The answer is open to interpretation, but if you trust their predictions, it may be time to prepare for what is to come.
