These Old Toys Are Worth A Fortune Now
For those of you who couldn’t let go of your favorite childhood toys and insisted on keeping them, today could be your lucky day. As phones and video games are taking over kids’ lives, it’s becoming increasingly rare for parents to buy physical toys or save the ones they already have to pass down to the next generation.
As such, the value of classic, older toys has skyrocketed in recent years, but if you have some of these gems hidden in the back of your closet or attic you could be in for a wonderful surprise…
Garbage Pail Kids Cards
While these weren’t exactly wildly popular with parents, kids couldn’t get enough of them! These crazy cards are worth a pretty penny today depending on the type of card, when it was made, and what condition it’s in. For example, a single card just sold for $300 while an entire 1985 Garbage Pail Kids Series One is being sold on eBay for $4,000!
Pokémon Cards
Pokémon was all the rage back in the day, and even today it still has a massive fan base. Since their release in 1996, many people collected and traded the cards, but donated their collections to friends or just outright threw them away when they got older. It’s those diehard fans that held on to their collections that are in luck. If kept in mint condition, a single Pokémon card could be worth thousands of dollars!
Luke Skywalker Action Figure
Star Wars fans don’t mess around, especially when it comes to their collectables. In 2015, this Luke Skywalker Action figure which was released in 1978, sold for $25,000. For those people fortunate enough to own one of these, you might want to hold on to it for a few more years until it’s worth $50,000!

Monopoly is classic, fun for everyone, and apparently worth a ton of money! In 2001, one of the original 1933 versions of the game, which was hand-drawn by Charles Darrow, sold for $146,500. With the latest and greatest in technology being applied to video games, Game Boys are a thing of the past. As such, their value has gone up because of it. A Game Boy in perfect condition could go for a couple hundred, but any of the special edition Game Boys are selling for as much as $1,500!

Hot Wheels have been around since 1968 and since then, over 4,000,000,000 have been created. The cars that hold the most value are the prototypes that were never produced on a mass scale. These one-of-a-kind cars have sold for as much as $125,000.
First Edition Pound Puppies
Pound Puppies were a huge hit when they came out in the ‘80s. They were safe, wholesome toys that every parent loved to buy for their kid. These days, if you’re looking to get rid of your Pound Puppy and it’s a first edition, you could sell it for around $5,000.
Cabbage Patch Dolls
It turns out your Cabbage Patch Doll could earn you some serious cash. Certain dolls are worth quite a bit of money right now. The award for the biggest collection of Cabbage Patch Dolls has to go to Pat and Joe Prosey whose custom-built Maryland museum currently houses over 5,000 dolls! That may seem unreal, but what isn’t is the $360,000 they received after selling their whole collection.
Sega Genesis Console
If you have an old Sega Genesis game system in your possession, it’s the perfect time to get rid of it. A working console is selling for about $2,000 right now, so fix it up and make some quick cash!
Fisher Price Push Cart Pete

This toy was largely popular during the 1960s and 1970s, and was even named one of the top 100 toys of all time by Time Magazine. An original Lite Brite, in the box, has gone for as much as $300 online.
Happy Meal Toys
Let’s be honest here. Nobody wanted the Happy Meal…we all just wanted the toy. Today, certain toys can be worth a fair amount of money. For whatever reason, certain collections from the Happy Meal Toys are now considered collectable items. The 2002 Disney characters were recently sold on eBay for $300!
Furby
Owning a Furby was the “it” thing to do for kids growing up in the ‘90s. This hamster/owl hybrid could keep kids entertained for hours, which every parent loved. Today, an original Furby unopened in its box could be worth at least $900!
Talkboy
Who remembers having one of these? Talkboys gained a lot of popularity after Home Alone 2: Lost in New York was released. After Kenner Company released their Jawa action figure in 1978 with a vinyl cape, they decided the vinyl was too cheap and switched to cloth. Because of that switch, the vinyl-caped action figures are extremely rare and worth at least $3,000 per figurine!
