Whether or not you realize it, many of today’s up-and-coming celebrities are actually born from famous parents. Sure, you may not appreciate nepotism, but you can’t argue with the fact that the talent runs in their genes. However, oftentimes we forget Hollywood’s most famous daughters because they end up changing their last name.
From the music to film industries and anywhere in between, incredible young female talent is shining and deservedly getting more respect and appreciation than ever before. Thanks to strong father figures, these now fully blossomed young ladies are taking on the world, and looking stellar doing it.
Katie Cassidy – Daughter of David Cassidy
David Cassidy was a celebrated teen idol back in the ‘70s when he was starring in The Partridge Family. His daughter Katie, born in 1986, decided to take up acting like her dad. After taking some minor roles in television, she eventually went on to star in bigger films like Click, Taken, and was most recently a major character in the show Arrow.
Georgia May Jagger – Daughter of Mick Jagger
Mick Jagger is practically a Rock’n’Roll legend, being described as “one of the most popular and influential frontmen” of its history. He was even knighted in 2003 for his contributions to music. His daughter Georgia May Jagger is a model, appearing in advertisements for jean and fragrance companies.
Lauren Harris – Daughter of Steve Harris
Steve Harris is a British musician and rocks it out on the guitar with his band Iron Maiden, which he started. In fact, he’s the only member to have stayed in the band since its beginnings in 1975.Lauren Harris, despite earning top-level grades in primary and secondary schools in England (as well as being classically trained in the arts), decided that a musical career just like her own dad was the way to go. She is currently touring with Iron Maiden.
Brooke Hogan – Daughter of Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, enjoying immense popularity during the mid-’80s and early ‘90s. His daughter Brooke got into music early. She began working on her first album in 2002. Since then, she’s worked on several reality shows about her and the Hogan family, and has released a few albums of her own.
Lily Collins – Daughter of Phil Collins
Phil Collins is the drummer and lead singer in the British band Genesis. Throughout his career during the ‘80s, Collins has had more hit singles than any other artist during that decade. His daughter Lily Collins is an actress, starring alongside Julia Roberts in Mirror Mirror and Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side. She can also be seen in the teen novel movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
Gwyneth Paltrow – Daughter of Bruce Paltrow
Before his tragic death from pneumonia and oral cancer, Bruce Paltrow wrote, produced, and directed episodes from numerous television shows. His final film he worked on was Duets, in which his own daughter starred in. Gwyneth Paltrow continued her acting career following her father’s death. Some of her acting highlights include the film Se7en, Great Expectations, Emma, and the Iron Man films.
Chelsea Tyler – Daughter of Steven Tyler
Known as “The Demon of Screamin”, Steven Tyler has been a huge vocal contributor to Aerosmith since the ‘70s. Chelsea never got into show business like her dad, choosing instead to lead a pretty normal life. She recently got married in California to actor Jon Foster.
Theodora and Alexandra Richards – Daughters of Keith Richards
Any music aficionado can explain the impact Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has had on modern music. On top of being the band’s founding member, Richards has been ranked by Rolling Stones Magazine as the 4th best guitarist for his originality and creativity. He even starred alongside Johnny Depp in the two most recent Pirates of the Caribbean films.Both of his daughters bear strong resemblance to him. The eldest, Theodora, has been modeling since she was 16. (She was also arrested in 2011 for vandalizing a convent wall in New York City, as well as possession of marijuana!) Alexandra has also been modeling and has appeared in well-regarded fashion magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair.
Kimberly Stewart – Daughter of Rod Stewart
Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, Rod Stewart is essentially one of the best-selling artists of all time. He’s achieved six consecutive #1 albums in the UK. 31 of his singles have reached the top ten, while six of those have reached the #1 position. His daughter Kimberly has studied acting from coaches with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. Though her acting résumé remains a bit on the slim side, she’s had plenty of experience with fashion and modeling.
Kim Kardashian – Daughter of Kris Jenner
Sometimes it seems as if the Kardashians are in the spotlight far more than they should be. Though Kris Jenner is no longer a part of the Kardashian family (at least not by name), she is still among its more respected members. She’s written an autobiography and a cookbook, as well as starring in the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kim Kardashian is the more entrepreneurial of the family. With her own small acting career, clothing line, and knack for taking some of the best-darn selfies, Kim has grown to become one of the largest social media presences.
Kate Hudson – Daughter of Goldie Hawn
Goldie Hawn is an Academy Award-winning and nominated actress, best known for the 1969 film Cactus Flower and Private Benjamin in 1980. She has been in a relationship with actor Kurt Russell since 1983. Kate Hudson first gained attention in 2000 with the film Almost Famous (at which point she really was almost famous) in which she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for a Best Supporting actress Oscar. She also starred alongside the then-unknown Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Zoë Kravitz – Daughter of Lenny Kravitz
Four-time Grammy Award winner Lenny Kravitz has specialized in a more “retro” style of songwriting, incorporating many less-mainstream sounds into his work. He also had a role in the Hunger Games films, as well as playing himself in the comedy Zoolander. His daughter Zoë is an established actress when not performing with her band Lolawolf. Her acting credentials include Will Smith film After Earth, Divergent, X-Men: First Class, and George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.

Emma Roberts – Daughter of Eric Roberts
Eric Roberts is a multi-Golden Globe nominated actor in films from King of the Gypsies to Runaway Train. One of his more recent roles was the mob boss Maroni in The Dark Knight. His daughter Emma was especially well-known during her teen years in films like Nancy Drew and Aquamarine. More recently she appeared in the comedy We’re the Millers.
Rashida Jones – Daughter of Quincy Jones
Quincy Jones has a career spanning six decades, first rising to prominence in the ‘50s as a jazz conductor. Since then he’s won 28 Grammys, received 79 nominations, and even acquired a Grammy Legend Award. He has been named in Time Magazine as one of the 20th century’s most influential jazz musicians. It’s difficult to believe simply by looking at her that Rashida Jones is of African-American descent. Though she’s acted in films like I Love You, Man and The Social Network, she’s most well-known for her work in all seven seasons of the hit show Parks and Recreation.
Gina Carano – Daughter of Glenn Carano
Glenn Carano played football for the University of Nevada, later going on to play as quarterback for the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Dallas Cowboys. Gina Carano has one of the most amazing bodies, probably from her career in MMA. Her competitive record remains at 12-1, and she’s been featured in ESPN The Magazine and Maxim. She’s focused on acting since her retirement, being part of big action films including Haywire, Fast & Furious 6, and the mega-hit superhero flick Deadpool.
Ivanka Trump – Daughter of Donald Trump
Regardless of your political affiliation, we’ve all probably seen The Donald’s name in the news far more than we’d like. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in ‘68 and has been one of the most successful businessmen and entrepreneurs ever since. Plus, you know, he’s also the President of the United States. His daughter Ivanka has been a huge influence on her father during his political career so far. Almost as entrepreneurial as he, she is currently Executive Vice President of Development & Acquisitions of the Trump Organization and an advisor to the president.
Hailie Jade Scott – Daughter of Eminem
Marshall Bruce Mathers (more popularly known as Eminem) is the best-selling artist of the 2000s. Rolling Stone placed him in the 83rd position out of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. His number of albums sold is an estimated 45.1 million. It seems inconceivable that Eminem could have a daughter of this age (he’s currently 44, though he certainly doesn’t look it). She’s a Christmas baby, and her parent’s have tried to provide her with as much of a normal upbringing as they can. Hailie is crazy smart, too, graduating from high school with a 3.9 GPA!
Katherine Schwarzenegger – Daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger
Producer, investor, philanthropist, businessman, bodybuilder, politician (and, oh yes, actor), the Governator has been quite active during his lifetime. His most popular roles were in The Terminator, Predator, and Conan the Barbarian. Good thing he had a daughter before saying “Hasta la vista, baby” to his estranged wife. Katherine Schwarzenegger is Arnold’s oldest child. Though she never followed her dad into acting, she did graduate in 2012 with a degree in Communications. In 2010, she authored a book which encouraged young women with confidence in their self-image.
Zelda Williams – Daughter of Robin Williams
Robin Williams was genuinely one of the greatest entertainers of our time. His work on Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, and Mrs. Doubtfire (to name merely a few) showed us how absolutely hilarious he could be while instilling raw, dramatic passion into his roles. Needless to say, the man will remain a legend until the end of time. Named after The Legend of Zelda video game series, his daughter Zelda Williams made her acting debut at age 5. Though her acting has remained low key, she is a huge fan of her namesake and the series, appearing in a television commercial for one of the games in 2011.
Corinne Bishop (Foxx) – Daughter of Jamie Foxx
Eric Morlon Bishop (“who?”) has risen to prominence in recent years (under the more popular name Jamie Foxx, of course). Though his performances in 2004 films Ray and Collateral earned him high praise and several award nominations, it wasn’t until 2012’s Tarantino film Django Unchained that everyone realized how charismatic of an actor Foxx truly is. Foxx is another actor that we can’t believe has a daughter this mature! Instead of diving straight into acting, she decided to focus on her schooling at the University of Southern California. She also studied acting in Los Angeles, so perhaps we’ll see her in a film alongside her dad someday.
Alison Eastwood – Daughter of Clint Eastwood
Known for his achievements in directing just as much as acting, Clint Eastwood is among Hollywood’s most revered members. His acting highlights include Sergio Leone’s Dollars trilogy and Dirty Harry. He also won Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby. Alison Eastwood has her own clothing line and is the founder of a non-profit animal welfare organization. She did well as a child actor, gave it up for modeling, but has recently returned to acting.
Shayne Dahl Lamas – Daughter of Lorenzo Lamas
Lorenzo Lamas has been in several television series, most well known for the ‘80s soap opera Falcon Crest. He was also in the ‘90s crime drama Renegade.Shayne Dahl Lamas comes from an extensive family of actors and won the 12th season of The Bachelor.
Francesca Eastwood – Daughter of Clint Eastwood
Besides having a prestigious acting and film-making career, Clint Eastwood also got it right in the daughter department! Francesca has also had a pretty modest acting career as well as starring in an E! reality series with her family. She was briefly married to Jonah Hill’s brother for a week before divorcing him.
Dakota Johnson – Daughter of Melanie Griffith
Melanie Griffith had a pretty small acting career before starring in the 1975 film Night Moves with Gene Hackman. She gained a lot of attention in the 2003 Broadway revival of Chicago.Her daughter is Dakota Johnson who recently attracted a lot of both positive and negative attention in Fifty Shades of Grey (and she’s working on the sequel). She also starred alongside Johnny Depp in the film Black Mass.
Amber Le Bon – Daughter of Simon Le Bon
Simon Le Bon is the lead singer of the British band Duran Duran and has also dabbled on the side with solo ventures. Amber is the oldest of Simon’s three daughters. In 2009 she was voted the “World’s Hottest Celebrity Daughters” by the former UK publication Zoo. She also recently became the face for Forever 21.
Bryce Dallas Howard – Daughter of Ron Howard
Before he became an Oscar-winning director, Ron Howard was Opie from The Andy Griffith Show and Richie in Happy Days. He eventually focused on directing and has made some renowned movies like Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind.Bryce Dallas Howard is an established actress. Her list of films include The Village, Lady in the Water, Spider-Man 3, The Help, and Jurassic World.
Eva Amurri – Daughter of Susan Sarandon
Susan Sarandon has been nominated for Oscars and Emmys and has won a BAFTA Award for The Client. She’s also created a name for herself in Broadway. She has been very engaged in her political and social activism and was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2009. Her daughter Eva has enjoyed a modest acting career, appearing in films like Dead Man Walking and The Banger Sisters. She has also had small appearances in television.
Bria Murphy – Daughter of Eddie Murphy
Though he’s certainly become a forgotten Hollywood relic of late, Eddie Murphy is still considered to be among the most entertaining actors in film. His better roles came from the ‘80s from such comedies as Coming to America, Trading Places, and Beverly Hills Cop.
Bria’s earliest contribution to movies was her drawings in her dad’s movie Daddy Day Care. In 2011 she began in television and was in last year’s Amateur Night.
Frances Bean Cobain – Daughter of Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain formed Nirvana in 1987, a band that became known as “the flagship band” of the Baby Boomer generation. He committed suicide at the young age of 27, but was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. His daughter Frances Bean first appeared in Elle magazine in 2006, then Harper’s Bazaar in 2008, and later modeled for Hedi Slimane in 2011. She’s stated that she doesn’t much care for grunge bands (including her own father’s band), instead preferring bands like Oasis.

Jon Voight is an established actor from films such as Mission: Impossible, Heat, and Transformers. For many years, Angelina Jolie never even spoke to her father after he left the family when she was a year old. It wasn’t until 2010 when her mother was struggling with ovarian cancer that they started talking and eventually reconciled.
Alexandra “Ali” Aston – Daughter of Sean Aston
Sean Astin was a goonie in the popular adolescent movie The Goonies. He eventually went on to play the lead role in Rudy which has become one of his most respected films. But he’s most well known and loved as the hobbit Sam in The Lord of the Rings. Though his daughter hasn’t done much in acting, she did have a brief role alongside her dad in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. She can be seen at the very end when Sam comes home and picks her up in his arms.

Even if you’re not familiar with hockey, chances are you’re totally familiar with the name Wayne Gretzky. After all, he’s only been heralded as the greatest hockey player on the planet, nicknamed “The Great One”. His daughter Paulina Gretzky decided to be an actor and singer instead of attending college. Some of her music is on iTunes, and she made her modeling debut on the cover of Flare in 2005. She and her pro-golfer fiance Dustin Johnson have welcomed their first baby into the world.
