Iconic NBA Stars And Their Exquisite Wives

Published

on

NBA players are some of the biggest superstars in the sporting world, and oftentimes they’re more polarizing and accessible than other athletes, mostly because they play on smaller teams. And due to their iconic nature, they attract a very unique type of spouse. Enter, the NBA wives.
These women knew what they were signing up for, but thanks to years of honing their teamwork and learning how to assist when needed, these NBA greats have scored big time. Now as a team themselves, these have become some of the most respected couples in NBA history.

Dikembe Mutombo

Like himself, Mutombo’s wife Rose is also Congolese-American. The two were practically engaged as soon as they met, and went on to marry in 1996. They’ve had six kids together and currently run the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation.

Juwan Howard

While his name doesn’t show up in the news much anymore, the now assistant coach of the Miami Heat has been extremely successful. He’s currently worth $80 million, and he is sometimes involved in his wife’s foundation, which promotes healthy living to fight cancer.

Paul Pierce

The Los Angeles Clippers small forward may be a skilled athlete, but he’s also skilled when it comes to lucrative business deals. His marketing strategies with the likes of Attitude Drinks combined with his salary has made him a player worth about $70 million. He met his wife Julie in 2006 and wed on the golden California beach in 2010.

Scottie Pippen

Scottie Pippen was a part of the legendary Bulls teams, but he hasn’t had as much success off the court. He married his wife Larsa back in 1997, but she has since cheated on him, and she currently wants a divorce. On top of that, she’s trying to take a substantial amount of his $50 million net worth.

Kevin Garnett

The Big Ticket has been a somewhat controversial figure in the past, but there is no doubting his talent. Back in 2004, he missed the Olympics to get hitched to Brandi Padilla. The Olympics are a huge deal, but it’s really hard to blame him…

Tim Duncan

Timmy D was divorced from his wife Amy, and he’s currently dating Spur reporter Vanessa Macias… That’s not suspicious at all. The Spurs have rewarded Duncan for his service over the years, and he is now worth at least $130 million.

Tracy McGrady

T-Mac has had a fabulous NBA career, but it went downhill quickly at the end. He still managed to net an $80 million fortune, so he can’t complain too much. Back in 2006, he married CleRenda Harris. She is the founder of Project P.U.S.H., an organization built to empower women.

Dirk Nowitzki

Although he’s popular, Dirk is a fairly reclusive player. He enjoys the support of fans, but the spotlight isn’t his thing. Even so, he’s still picked up a solid net worth of $120 million. In 2010, he married Jessica Olsson, the sister of soccer players Marcus and Martin Olsson.

Lebron James

The King has been successful on and off the court. He married Savannah Brinson, his high school sweetheart. He’s won three NBA titles. Plus, he’s worth $400 million. It turns out, you can have it all.

Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd’s net worth is hard to estimate, but needless to say, he’s doing just fine. The illustrious point guard married ex-model Porschla Coleman back in 2011, and the couple have two kids. Or two Kidds…. Ok, that was cringey.

Jerry Stackhouse

For 18 years between 1995 and 2013, the shooting guard and small forward amassed some $60 million in net worth. He and his sweetheart Ramirra Marks have been married since 2000 and have three kids together.

Michael Jordan

You could say that MJ had a pretty decent NBA career. So far, he has amassed a startling $1.3 billion so far, and he’s showing no signs of slowing his money-making pace. Back in 2013, he married Latin American model Yvette Prieto. Michael has such a rough life…

Chris Paul

CP3 is living the dream. He has a lucrative contract, he married his girlfriend from high school, he has two kids, and he also has a Bel Air Mansion. With a net worth of close to $100 million, he won’t be running into financial trouble anytime soon.

Ray Allen

The Miami Heat shooting guard met actress Shannon Walker Williams in 2004 and they were married four years later. Today they have three kids and are enjoying Allen’s $75 million net worth.

Mike Bibby

These two are high school sweethearts, and his faithfulness to her is pretty evident by the fact that her name is forever tattooed onto his wrist. They also have four children together, so you know that they love each other at least to some extent.

Nenê

With a net worth of $40 million to $80 million, can you really blame a girl for not wanting to get in on that? Lauren Prothe used to play volleyball, and she also speaks Portuguese fluently. But that’s nothing compared to how tall she is — 6’1″! That’s tall enough to stand and look her husband right in the eyes.

Magic Johnson

The Magic man is worth a cool $600 million, and he is currently president of the Laker’s organization. He also is a part owner of the LA Dodgers. In 1991, he married Earlitha Kelly, and the two are still happily married today.

Amar’e Stoudemire

STAT is worth a lot of money, and while nobody is sure of how much, his worth is estimated to be in the $100+ million range. Back in 2012, he married Alexis Welch, whom he had dated for almost a decade. By the way, STAT is Amar’e’s self dubbed nickname. It means, “Standing Tall And Talented.”

Michael Redd

Redd amassed quite a fortune for himself after signing a $91 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2005. Since retirement, he’s used a large amount of that money to start the Michael Redd Foundation with his wife Achea.

Grant Hill

Sure, Grant Hill was a very talented player, but he also is a great husband and father. Back in 1999, he married Canadian R&B star Tamia Washington. His personal fortune currently sits north of $180 million.

Stephon Marbury

During his NBA All-Star days, the former point guard acquired quite a sum for himself through various endorsements and stipends. Today, he’s married to Tasha (who was in the fifth season of Basketball Wives), and the couple enjoy their time with their two children.

Alonzo Mourning

Alonzo and Tracy have been married since 1997 and both started the Honey Shine Mentoring Program in 2002. The program aids young women in improving their lifestyle. In the meantime, however, they’ve raised three kids.

David Robinson

Robinson was as loyal to his San Antonio Spurs for the entire duration of his 14-year-long career as he’s been to his wife Valerie. The two have been married since 1991. She’s been putting her business degree to good use since ‘92 when she and her husband founded the David Robinson Foundation which focuses on outreach amongst the community.

Karl Malone

“The Mailman” is a legendary fixture in NBA lore, but the ex-big-man has only managed to net $75 million. He met his wife at an autograph signing event. She had just won the Miss Idaho pageant at the time.

Junior Bridgeman

Junior was a good basketball player, but he’s a much better businessman. After his NBA career, he used his earnings to acquire a massive Wendy’s franchise empire. Today, he’s worth north of $400 million. He has been married to his wife Doris for over 40 years. He’s certainly figured out how to live the American dream.

Chris Webber

The retired NBA player now works as a TV analyst, and he also happens to run a successful investment company. He’s been together with Erika Dates for a while, but they decided to tie the knot in 2009.

Hakeem Olajuwon

Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon has had a unique career. He started playing basketball at the age of 15, and he dominated college ball a few years later. In 1996, he had an arranged marriage with 18-year-old Dalia Asafi. This was done according to his Islamic faith. The two remain married to this day.

Larry Bird

There’s a reason why the former Celtics forward has received legendary status. After all, he’s the one player who was named MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year. His wife — Dinah Mattingly — has been married to him since 1989, and they’ve since become mom and dad to two adopted kids.

Vlade Divac

As general manager of the Sacramento Kings, Divac scored pretty high both on the court and off. He earned 13,000 points over his 16-year career and currently has a fortune of about $45 million. He and his wife Snežana have two sons, but have also adopted a daughter.

Chris Bosh

The Miami Heat forward was considered amongst the top 50 highest paid players in the league in 2015, but Bosh was married four years before that to Adrienne. She owns her very own beauty and boutique shop called Sparkle and Shine Darling in Miami Beach.

Dwyane Wade

Wade remains one of the most popular players in the league, and this has shown up clearly in his $95 million net worth. In 2014, he also had a very high profile marriage to Gabrielle Union, and the two still occasionally show up in the celebrity spotlight.

Pat Riley

While he’s more known as a coach and GM, Riley did play in the NBA back in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Riley got married to his wife, Chris, way back in 1970. She was a marriage counselor at the time.

Jermaine O’Neal

It turns out that Jermaine is one of the highest paid NBA players of all time. He met his wife Mesha a long time ago, and they ended up getting married in the Bahamas. Back in 2010, she was on the show Basketball Wives.

Gary Payton

Payton won his only championship with the Miami Heat, but the majority of his $130 million net worth is from his 10 years with the Supersonics. Back in 1997, he married Monique James, his high school sweetheart.

Shaquille O’Neal

The 7’1″ center is currently dating actress Annie Ilonzeh, who stands an above-average 5’7″. It’s a comical height difference, but the two seem happy, so no reason to judge. The big Shaqtus has accumulated a very respectable $400 million fortune over the span of his career. Currently, he’s a host on TNT.

Chauncey Billups

These two high school sweethearts met at 17. They’ve remained steadfast companions ever since, and the two have three daughters together. Wonder if his kids think he’s “Mr. Big Shot” now!

Carmelo Anthony

Melo and La La may be the most high profile couple in the NBA, but they’ve always had problems. They currently aren’t living together, and rumors of Carmelo cheating on her have arisen throughout his career. Still, he’s worth $90 mil, so he can’t complain too much…

Kobe Bryant

While their relationship had some ups and downs, Vanessa and Kobe Bryant are an image of strength since Kobe’s passing. The five-time NBA champ sadly left her to take care of their daughter Gigi after his tragic helicopter accident in 2020.

Jamal Mashburn

“Monster Mash” was a superstar during his 12-year-long career with the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, but now he’s retired and living life as a happily married man with his wife Michelle. She’s a personal trainer as well as a co-businessperson with Jamal, who together have their hands in 71 different business ventures.

Baron Davis

The bearded PG struggled with injuries during his career, but he still managed to end up with a net worth of $65 million. He’s married to Isabella Brewster. You may have heard of her name because her sister, Jordana, was in The Fast and the Furious films.
