Top Three U.S Locations for Spring Bloom Enthusiasts

With spring peeping its much longed for head around the corner, we are counting down the days for when colorful blooms and foliage replace the dreary grayness of winter.

Thanks to a much milder winter than normal, spring blooms are out in full force – much earlier than normal – and we have the top three locations for viewing the best spring blooms.

The park, which stretches across portions of Tennessee and North Carolina is seeing blooms nearing their peak thanks to the mild winter. Visitors can expect to see beautiful wildflowers sprinkled across the landscape, including irises, lilies and cardinals. The park is nicknamed “Wildflower National Park” thanks to its springtime blooms. For those wanting a more detailed tour check out the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, which runs from April 11 through 15. One of the park’s naturalists guide visitors to special wildflower spots.

For tropical flower enthusiasts there is no better place than Kauai, Hawaii. From late March through the summer the island comes alive with coral trees, orchids, frangipani trees and a vast array of other tropical blooms. The island’s botanical McBryde Garden allows visitors to hike through the gorgeous tropical displays.

Jefferson Memorial with Cherry Blossoms

The iconic cherry blossoms, which draw visitors to the capital city every spring, are set to blossom much earlier than normal this year. The cherry blossoms normally appear in late March and early April, however some experts predict the delicate pink and white blossoms may bloom in early March. Best spot in the city to take in the breathtaking views is the Tidal Basin during the early morning hours.
