The desire for leisure travel has undergone a permanent structural change, according to the CEO of United Airlines.
On the airline’s third-quarter earnings call on Wednesday morning, CEO Scott Kirby claimed that because of hybrid employment every weekend could be a holiday weekend.
In the conversation, Kirby emphasized, This is not pent-up demand. Its the new normal.
In the third quarter of this year, Uniteds net income increased from $473 million in the third quarter of 2021 to $942 million.
However, United’s third-quarter profit decreased by 8% when compared to the comparable period prior to the pandemic in 2019.
