Before the pandemic, Hong Kong welcomed almost 56 million tourists annually.
But now after more than two years of some of the strictest travel restrictions in the world, the well-known city is now making huge efforts to entice travelers back.
Hong Kong has revealed plans to give away half a million airline tickets in an effort to attract tourism, only days after removing its long-standing required hotel quarantine requirement.
According to CNN the Airport Authority Hong Kong said that the 500,000 tickets, valued at about $254.8 million, would be distributed to both locals and foreign tourists.
