Disney World Announces Plans for 50th Anniversary

It’s a big year for Disney World. Not only is the Florida theme park beginning its recovery from the pandemic, but it’s also gearing up to celebrate an amazing anniversary when it turns 50 later this year!
To mark its amazing 50th anniversary, Walt Disney World Resort announced it will be launching “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” beginning October 1st.

According to CNN, the festivities will continue for 18 months and will include a special 50th-anniversary crest for Cinderella’s Castle.
Visitors to the parks can expect lots of glitter and sparkles, courtesy of the celebratory “EARidescence” Disney World will create.
CNN reports plans already include new lights to shine across the reflective panels of EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth (reminiscent of the star-filled sky), Magical fireflies at Animal Kingdom’s The Tree of Life, “special new touches” on the Hollywood Tower Hotel at Hollywood Studios, and special anniversary costumes for Mickey and Minnie.
