Delta And Pilot Union Nearing New Contract Deal

Published

on

Delta Air Lines and the union representing its pilots reached a long-negotiated preliminary agreement for raises up to 34% over the course of four years.
Delta pilots have been negotiating for a new contract since 2019, and voted in October to authorize a strike if a deal isnt reached.
In addition to pay, pilots across the industry have complained about scheduling since travel bounced back from pandemic lows.
The latest offer from Delta includes a minimum 18% raise when the contract is signed, followed by another 5% after one year, 4% after two year, and 4% after three years, per reports.
The deal, which still needs union approval, could also lead to better deals for pilots at rival airlines American and United, where negotiations are ongoing.
