Surf’s Up, Dudes!

SeaWorld Orlando has announced a brand new surf-themed rollercoaster is about to be unleashed at the park, but you’ll have to wait until next year to ride the waves.
According to Travel Weekly, Pipeline: The Surf Coaster will give riders an “immersive experience from the moment it starts” as adrenaline junkies are secured on the ride in a surfing position. At the same time, their seat rises and falls to mimic the motion of surfing a wave.

Comprised of 2,950 ft of track and reaching heights of 110 feet, Pipeline: The Surf Coaster will travel at speeds of up to 60 mph during the 110-second ride.

According to Kyle Miller, the park’s president, SeaWorld Orlando is the “only place in the world” to have this type of rollercoaster.

“We are always looking for exciting ways to take thrills to a new level,” Miller said in a statement reported by Travel Weekly. “This first-of-its-kind rollercoaster will be the perfect addition to the already incredible line-up of attractions at SeaWorld Orlando.”
